Thermal Power Plants continue to dominate electricity production, accounting for nearly half of the worldwide energy production mix. Fossil fuel including coal, oil, biomass and gas remain important for the worlds power supply. SEIKO Flowcontrol has developed technological innovations for the use in Steam Power Generation Industry for the application at boilers, steam and gas turbines as well as balance of plant.

Power (CHP) cogeneration plants can provide cycle efficiency in excess of 75%

Utility Boilers applications, drum type or once-through with subcritical, supercritical or ultra-supercritical steam parameters can have a main steam pressure up to 280 bar with temperature in the range of 600°C Combined heat and power (CHP) cogeneration plants can provide cycle efficiency in excess of 75% and deliver in a single unit the heat required for industrial processes, usually in form of steam, and electric power for use on site or export to the grid.


We can also offer extensive experience for state-of-the-art Flow Elements for combined cycle power plants (CCPP or CCGT) with advanced gas turbines or waste heat from industrial processes using heat recovery steam generators (HSRG). SEIKO Flowcontrol has proven history of supplying Flow Elements for thermal power plants with more than 20.000 installations across the world.

Industrial process solutions.

There are many industrial processes where our flow elements are installed. One of the biggest segments served
by SEIKO Flowcontrol is the chemical industry including organic and inorganic basic chemicals, polymers, fertilizers and viscose fiber plants.

Ethylene is a basic building block of the chemical industry and the link between chemical companies and petroleum refineries. The ethylene or olefin plant will yield mostly ethylene, but will also break the feed-stock into a number of usable by-products, such as propylene and butylenes. The steel industry is an other cornerstone of business on world´s market as crude steel production has nearly doubled from 2001 to 2011.

Sophisticated energy management systems ensure efficient use and recovery of energy

Today´s best -available integrated steel mills have sophisticated energy management systems to ensure efficient use and recovery of energy throughout the steelmaking process. By-product gases from the coke oven, blast furnace and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) are measured and fully reuse in closed process cycles to save fossil fuel.


With an energy demand of 3-5 MWh for one ton of production of paper, pulp and paper manufacture are the world´s fourth biggest primary energy using industry. Most mill´s have their own plants for the generation of electricity and the production of steam. Self generation of energy accounts for almost 60% of the total energy use.

Specially the combustion of wastes from the production process and biomass fuels such as bark, biogas from effluent treatment and wood residues as well as energy recovered within the production process are transformed to heat and electric power. Bearing in mind, that a pulp and paper mill may have a number of different types and sizes of boilers and turbines and district heating running, reliable flow measurements are needed to balance the total plant operation.

Special Piping

SEIKO is manufacturing special pipe fittings for new constructed or maintaining steam and water cycle of thermal power plants. These pipe fittings are produced in our own plant using latest machining, automatic welding and heat treatment technology. A highly qualified team experienced in processing most of modern materials according to EN and ASME standard, guarantees correct design and quality.

SEIKO´s special pipe fittings production includes:

  • TEE-pieces
  • Lateral Tee pieces
  • WYE-pieces
  • Self-reinforced branch fittings and other transition pieces
  • Special flanges
  • Seamless pipes or forged bars, but also
    • Headers
    • Attemperators
    • Steam screens

Typically these sizes are between 1" up to 60" with a weight of up to 12 tons and a length of up to 15 meters with heavy-wall forgings with wall thickness.


In our test laboratory we can carry our all requested non-destructive tests including dimensional and alignment check, examinations with liquid penetration, magnetic particles, radiographic, ultrasonic, hardness and positive material identification (PMI). All test reports together with the material certificates will be collected to a final documentation Record Book.
